The Retreat Ceremony. Fort McClellan, Alabama, has been the
home for the Women’s Army Crops Center
and School since 1954. It is a special honor
to be asked to raise or lower the flag and the
faces reflect that feeling in this painting.
Charles McBarron illustrated catalogs for Sears
and Montgomery Wards – but he is best known
for his military art which includes 155 plates
on the American Soldier.
