The full title of
this painting is Commodore Perry Carrying the “Gospel of God” to
the Heathen. It was a very long trip to Japan
for these coal burning ships.
James Evans was
known for his nautical and architectural works. This
print is from a 1950s National Geographic – exact
year unknown.
In excellent condition with
strong color.
Overall size is 8” x 10”.
