Black Beauty stands
patiently while the blacksmith works on her
hoof. Wesley Dennis wrote & illustrated
many books for children but his horse portraits
reveal his love of the animal. He groomed horses
during his stint with the Massachusetts National
Guard which taught him the anatomy and shape
of the horse. This is from Black Beauty.
